Puuluup
Puuluup Bio
Puuluup is an Estonian duo formed in 2014 by Ramo Teder (also known as Pastacas) and anthropologist Marko Veisson, who reinvent the traditional hiiu kannel by blending it with electronics, looping, and alternative playing techniques. Their music bridges folk tradition with contemporary sounds, weaving in world music, underground, and pop influences while creating rhythms that range from danceable to cinematic and dark. They released their debut album Süüta mu lumi in 2018, followed by Viimane suusataja in 2021, and in 2024 collaborated with 5MIINUST on the joint album Kannatused ehk külakiigel pole stopperit while representing Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest grand final. Having performed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, Puuluup describe their mission simply: to show that the hiiu kannel can be played in countless creative ways, encouraging others to explore and make their own music.
