L’Antidote

Brand new trio of well established traditional course virtuoso.

Imagine three mighty rivers drifting out their traditional watercourse and flowing together into a huge, experimental mass of water.

One is Iranian, his name is Bijan Chemirani, he descends from a dynasty of Persian percussionists and masters the zarb as if he had invented it three thousand years ago, having collaborated with a diverse array of musicians, including Jean-Marc Padovani, Juan Carmona, and Sting.

Another, Rami Khalife, is Lebanese, a virtuoso classical pianist who rules a personal realm ranging from Rachmaninov to the Sufi mysticism and electro-dance.

Then you have Redi Hasa, who keeps many worlds in his majestic cello, recently adding his work on the soundtrack for Celine Dion’s documentary, which has been shortlisted for the Oscars.

No limit, no bank can contain the force of this new river, no landscape is precluded. Nobody can predict what will come out from this gathering. But, while the storm is raging over the fragile Earth, perhaps you need to know that these great musicians are working on an antidote, which is also the title of their first album.
